JOB TITTLE:         Certified Peer Specialist

DEPARTMENT:              Behavioral Health

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide Habilitation/residential Support Services for acquiring, retaining and improving skills such as communication, self-help, self-care, socialization etc., to enable participant to integrate fully into the community.  Provide Empowerment Services and Peer Supports are provided with a rehabilitation and recovery focus.  They are designed to promote skills for coping with and managing behavioral health symptoms.  Services are delivered in mainly in community and home settings.  Peer Support uses trauma-informed, non-clinical assistance to achieve long term recovery from SUD and Mental Health issues.  Maintains accurate and up-date records in accordance with the programs policies and procedures.  Must be able to travel in the community daily.  Provide individual/group services.  Maintains accurate and up-dated records in accordance with the programs policies and procedures

 QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Certified by OMH or OASAS as a Peer Specialist
