BATF Behavioral Health Services is a licensed outpatient clinic providing comprehensive mental health services to clients who present with a wide range of behavioral health problems. The program’s objective is to improve health outcomes through symptom management/stabilization. Our program offers diagnostic services which can help prioritize our clients’ treatment needs. The intake process yields a rich description of the client’s current mental status as well as a picture of the client’s overall level of functioning across life domains. Clinicians access our clients’ collateral contacts when available to provide a historical context, and potential support system. Our emphasis is on a collaborative relationship with the client as a core value The clinical staff is comprised of licensed social workers who provide ongoing psychotherapies driven by the client’s presenting problems. The staff use evidence-based assessment and treatment tools, such as the “Seeking Safety” model articulated by Najavits (www.seekingsafety.org). Social Work staff also provide case management in order to assure communication/continuity with other systems involved in supporting the client .

Fall 2011 -Newsletter
One year ago, I had the pleasure of announcing that BATF had received its article 31 license allowing us to provide a wide array of behavioral health services. Our clinic – located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at 260 Broadway (corner of Haveymeyer)opened its doors on October 12, 2010. During the past year, we have had the pleasure of serving the community providing over 330 comprehensive assessments. We are developing strong linkages and creative partnerships with other service providers to better serve our community. Internally, we have received a tremendous amount of support and referrals from our Housing and Alternatives To Violence programs. Providing mental health support to the clients in those programs allowed not only our clinic to flourish but provided much needed assessments and on-going support to those programs. Helping to stabilize and their clients through assessments, psychotherapy and medication management. These services assist their clients in increasing their independent living skills. Additionally, we have provided assessments and support to clients that were referred from over 24 agencies in the community. A special thanks goes out to Wycoff Hospital and Pamojia House Shelter who have entrusted us with serving their clients.
Our Clinic hours continue to be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. We are open on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00am-8:00pm to accommodate those who work during the day. We accept Medicaid (and most Medicaid managed care programs) and provide psychiatric services in English, French, Creole and Spanish. Call 347-505-5120 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
